Maqam AI is a practice tool between lessons. A teacher corrects your rulings and hears things software cannot. It shows you, precisely, how your sound compares to the Qari you're studying, so the time with your teacher goes further.

Maqam AI measures acoustics (melody, pacing, pauses, endings, stability, and vibrato) against your chosen Qari's recitation. It does not issue rulings on the validity of your recitation. Sound is measurable; rulings belong to teachers.

You should be comfortable reading the mushaf and reciting an ayah on your own. If you can do that and you want your recitation closer to the Qari's, you're exactly who this was built for. Complete beginners should start with tajwīd basics first.

For scoring on Android and iOS, your recitation is processed to produce feedback and then deleted from analysis systems. Saved takes in My recordings stay on that device. On Android only, if you tap Yes, I'll help Maqam (or turn on Settings → Help improve Maqam), we may also keep a separate copy of that recitation and related details in a private Maqam cloud to improve the product, not as a personal library, and not sent to scoring AI providers. You can turn that off in Settings; it stops new copies but does not by itself erase copies already stored. Details: maqamapp.com/privacy.

Yes. The text is rendered as it appears in a mushaf: never animated, distorted, or decorated. All analysis and animation apply to the audio of your voice, not to the words themselves.

Scoring requires a network connection because analysis runs in the cloud. Downloaded reference audio and reader content are available offline.

Live duet with a friend is planned. It is not available yet.

My recordings stays on the device where you saved it. Scores and progress sync when you sign in. On Android, if you opt in to Help improve Maqam, a separate copy may be stored in Maqam's private cloud for product improvement. That is not a personal library you can play back on another device.

No. Maqam AI performs pattern comparison against a reference. It does not identify voices and does not claim your voice matches any particular reciter.
